“The first thing is the [meat] market in Wuhan … is a smoke screen and this virus is not from nature,” Yan claimed, explaining that she got “her intelligence from the CDC in China, from the local doctors.”

The virologist — who claims she did some of the earliest research into COVID-19 last year — has previously accused Beijing of lying about when it learned of the killer bug and engaging in an extensive cover-up of her work.

In April, Yan reportedly fled Hong Kong and escaped to America to raise awareness about the pandemic. She is said to have been hiding over fear for her safety.

Yan had said her former supervisors at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, a reference laboratory for the World Health Organization, silenced her when she sounded the alarm about human-to-human transmission in December last year.

She also claimed that before she fled China, her information was wiped from government databases

The lab has denied that Yan ever “conducted any research on human-to-human transmission” and said her assertions have “no scientific basis.”

Yuan Zhiming, director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, has previously denied claims that the bug accidentally spread from his facility.

There are other works on YouTube by the same artist, Simon #Khorolskiy, and he seems to have a propensity for setting biblical texts to music, as “My Redeemer Lives” illustrates – straight out of the Book of Job!

I had already come across something by him, his “epic version” of the famous Welsh hymn, “Oh the Deep Deep Love of Jesus.” I have long loved that melody, and at some point I’d like to hear (or if necessary be involved in creating) a version adapted to 7/8 time. In the meantime Khorolskiy’s version (which I think is actually in 6/8 although I might be misled by triplets as in the 4/4 original) will certainly do.

When the state replaced its coronavirus “watchlist” for counties with a four-tiered system at the end of August, Marin County revised its policy to allow all aviation-related services.

The lawsuit asserts that the change of policy constitutes an admission by the county that Seaplane Adventures could have resumed operations much earlier without endangering public health.

Singer said the business restarted limited operations over the weekend.

“I’m only able to fly weekends because I don’t have enough resources to open full time,” Singer said.

The suit states that because of the prolonged shutdown, Seaplane Adventures lost its chief pilot, director of maintenance and four other employees. The suit says the business spent more than $680,000 to train the chief pilot. Singer said he is currently doing some of the flying himself.

The lawsuit was filed on Sept. 2 in U.S. District Court in San Francisco. In addition to compensatory damages and attorneys’ fees, the suit seeks a permanent injunction to prevent the county from grounding the airline again.

“Based on the capriciousness of the county and the complete lack of any standard being set by the county,” Singer said, “I have no idea what it is going to be like a week from now.”

Washington wrote, “Seaplane Adventures’ suit asks the Court to Monday-morning quarterback the Health Officer’s judgment about what was necessary to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are confident that the courts will decline to do so.”

Washington said Marin County has also been named as a codefendant, along with nine other counties and the state, in a suit brought by Patioworld that alleges local health orders constituted an #unconstitutional taking of its business.

Singer is one of six candidates competing in the Nov. 3 election for three seats on the Sausalito City Council.
