[Please share this with family and friends in need of saving.]

65:00
bill johnson as he comes to share the
65:02
word of the lord with us this morning
65:04
thank you
65:08
see all of you by faith i
65:13
i trust you’re there how’s that i trust
65:16
you there
65:17
um what an amazing
65:22
opportunity to see the goodness of the
65:24
lord
65:27
i i’ve had a i’ve had an interesting a
65:30
couple of weeks just personally
65:32
experiencing with the lord and
65:34
and um so let me just get to it i really
65:38
don’t have a teaching i have
65:40
an exhortation an invitation a
65:43
something i don’t even know what to call
65:45
it uh
65:47
probably 10 days ago i i joined
65:50
a school of ministry out here under the
65:51
tent and
65:53
uh we had a it was a wonderful time of
65:55
worship but something
65:56
started to happen um that maybe it
65:59
started previous to that but i became
66:01
uh unusually aware aware of
66:06
of the glory of the lord that began to
66:08
fill
66:09
that tent i could feel it tangibly i’ve
66:11
had these
66:12
um experiences throughout throughout my
66:15
own personal journey
66:18
i remember when i pastored in weberville
66:22
i would i would take time
66:25
often just to walk through the sanctuary
66:28
back and forth when nobody was there i
66:30
would uh
66:31
just just just a worship just to pray
66:35
i remember there was a little piano
66:37
there and i would sit and play a bit and
66:39
just
66:39
just do whatever i could to give him the
66:42
best offering i could give him
66:45
i remember times where the presence of
66:47
the lord became so overwhelming
66:49
to me that i i’m embarrassed to say it
66:52
now but i quickly thought of something
66:54
else to do
66:56
i i quickly thought of things that it
66:58
that doesn’t mean when things come to
66:59
mind it’s necessarily the enemy
67:01
sometimes the lord brings things to mind
67:02
that we need to take care of but it
67:03
wasn’t that
67:05
it was the the intensity of presence was
67:08
so
67:09
was so strong that i found myself just
67:12
getting nervous
67:13
just getting a little bit anxious and
67:16
uh and i didn’t recognize it immediately
67:19
it was it was later
67:21
i i started to see that there’s there’s
67:24
a measure of presence where
67:26
where all of us that all of us delight
67:28
in and measure presence that takes us
67:32
into great great discomfort
67:40
um
67:42
which is fine because he’s the comforter
67:44
so my opinion is
67:46
uh he makes you uncomfortable so that
67:48
you need the comfort
67:50
and uh and he’s pretty good at that
67:52
there was a story with moses where he um
67:56
he could go no further until he had done
67:58
what the lord
67:59
commanded him to do in in that case it
68:00
was to circumcise his kids his sons
68:04
he had gone to this distance and then
68:07
suddenly
68:08
what was a normal journey became life
68:11
and death and i
68:12
i i don’t mean to suggest life-and-death
68:14
decisions although i do think they exist
68:16
for us
68:18
um instead i i want to emphasize that
68:21
we’re on this relational journey and
68:22
they’re just come
68:24
there come there comes to us points in
68:27
time
68:28
where he has an agenda and mine won’t do
68:33
i mean you can have you know if you’ve
68:35
been in this a while
68:37
probably for all of us or you know 95
68:41
of the people that would be watching
68:42
every agenda you have
68:44
every agenda you have has been shaped by
68:46
scripture
68:48
it’s it’s not like it’s not like wanting
68:52
revival
68:52
is an evil desire it’s not it’s just in
68:56
the glory
68:56
all my agendas all my
69:00
ambitions all my dreams as lofty as they
69:05
are
69:06
they all have to take place
69:09
another place outside of this glory
69:11
because in this glory
69:13
there’s only one thing that matters and
69:15
that’s the face to face with this one
69:18
i i’m not there as a pastor i’m not
69:21
there
69:23
as a speaker or writer or whatever else
69:25
you’ve blank you’d feel and i’m not
69:27
there as that all
69:28
those hats are left outside the door
69:31
there’s only one hands they had of a son
69:34
it’s the only one that works
69:36
in there and
69:41
i’ve had this sense for quite a while
69:42
but it’s becoming more
69:44
tangible in the last especially the last
69:48
10 days where in
69:51
in that
69:59
in that tent in that time with students
70:03
i started
70:05
to rediscover something that
70:09
hadn’t been lost that would be wrong but
70:12
there was a there’s always a freshness
70:14
to his presence that makes
70:16
it almost makes you feel like you’ve
70:17
never had it before it’s so fresh you
70:19
know
70:19
there’s always something so new with
70:21
what he’s saying and doing it almost
70:23
feels like it’s the first time you’ve
70:24
ever heard him speak
70:25
and yet outside of that experience you
70:27
can see the history that brought you
70:29
here but in that
70:30
moment it’s like it’s like
70:35
it’s like hearing
70:40
hearing for the first time i’ve
70:43
it reminded me of something oh goodness
70:46
it’d be
70:47
2010 2011 somewhere near eric
70:50
my son was was leading the second uh
70:53
year school of ministry
70:56
and there was a there was about a five
70:58
month period i don’t remember the year
71:00
but there was about a five-month period
71:02
they met over our twin view campus our
71:05
second campus
71:06
and they were the the school uh the
71:09
second year school was there and i don’t
71:10
remember how many students there were
71:12
i would guess 300 maybe but anyway
71:16
uh that room was you know packed and
71:19
eric was leading and and as one of the
71:22
pastors i have a
71:23
time slot where i i go over there and
71:26
and speak and it’s always an incredible
71:28
privilege to
71:29
to do so i remember
71:32
i would walk in there was this there was
71:33
this five-month period of time
71:35
where i’d walk in it was like walking
71:37
into a cloud
71:38
i mean it was it was it was
71:41
like walking into a cloud that’s alive
71:43
it wasn’t it wasn’t fog it was
71:46
walking into this to life itself
71:50
on a level that was
71:53
so wonderful and so overwhelming
71:58
i remember i would come in and back i
72:00
would i would come sit down
72:02
sometimes i’d make it to the run i’d
72:04
come and i’d sit down and
72:06
eric would be there and listen this
72:08
wasn’t led by
72:11
you know a great worship time those were
72:13
there and that’s
72:14
important we just had a wonderful time
72:16
now and
72:17
that kind of uh uh instrument that the
72:21
lord uses is
72:22
very significant and important but but
72:24
this was different
72:25
it was it was almost like the holy
72:27
spirit
72:29
the choir director of heaven entered the
72:32
room
72:32
and he was he was conducting something
72:36
wow
72:39
i remember sitting down next to eric and
72:44
he would look up at me
72:48
what do you want to do i said i’m not
72:51
touching this
72:53
i i have absolutely
72:56
nothing to say
72:59
there are times in the glory where
73:01
that’s what you do there’s a word
73:02
there’s a word of the lord it’s the
73:03
ultimate
73:04
moment i mean you want those moments i i
73:07
don’t want to suggest at all that
73:08
somehow when that
73:09
that manifest presence of jesus comes in
73:12
that measure
73:13
that we that we don’t speak and somehow
73:15
teaching goes out the window
73:16
i don’t believe that and and i’ve seen
73:18
the opposite happen
73:20
i’ve seen those moments that are so
73:21
overwhelmingly pregnant and
73:23
filled with god himself in the room and
73:26
then there’s a word and and i
73:28
i believe that but this wasn’t this
73:30
wasn’t that season it was
73:32
it was five months of coming into a room
73:35
where
73:40
where it just didn’t matter
73:43
strange strange to say you could have
73:45
this burden or this vision or this
73:47
desire or whatever to preach this or to
73:50
pray for this or to do whatever but
73:51
somehow
73:52
somehow in this in this
73:57
living cloud of presence
74:02
oh goodness it
74:05
it just doesn’t matter it doesn’t matter
74:08
and i i remember
74:10
during that period of time i don’t even
74:11
know how many times i actually spoke
74:13
i did a few times but it wasn’t very
74:15
often it wasn’t very often but i
74:17
sure encountered jesus a lot i sure
74:20
encountered the love of god
74:22
even through people there was such an
74:24
unusual
74:25
interaction in those times you know you
74:27
don’t jesus said
74:29
i gave them my glory that they may be
74:31
one there’s something
74:32
there’s something about the glory that
74:34
just makes everybody fit together
74:36
perfectly
74:37
it’s not through striving it’s not
74:39
through effort it’s not through
74:40
determination it’s
74:42
in the glory it fits and the reason is
74:45
is that’s what we were designed for i
74:47
was designed
74:49
everything about me everything about me
74:51
that’s of him
74:53
was was designed to fit seamlessly
74:57
in the glory seamlessly
75:02
i’m actually wired in oh you are too
75:05
every born-again believer we’re actually
75:09
we’re actually
75:10
wired to recognize him
75:15
and to respond to him and part of that
75:16
response is obedient so obedience is the
75:18
most natural thing in the world
75:20
in the presence you know if you can
75:21
imagine isaiah 6 where isaiah
75:25
says i see the lord he’s high lifted up
75:28
train fills the temple this overwhelming
75:33
this overwhelming baptism of presence
75:35
where he sees the throne of god
75:38
and then he hears god say not to him
75:42
but in conversation in heaven who will i
75:45
send
75:47
see there’s something about in the glory
75:50
the glory is is not just to
75:54
absorb and walk away blessed it’s to be
75:56
impacted by
75:57
so that we impact everything around us
75:59
and and the lord asked this question he
76:01
said who will i send and i said he says
76:04
i’ll go i can always tell when people
76:06
are truly in the glory because they want
76:07
to serve
76:09
now you can want to serve without being
76:10
in the glory but when you do
76:13
the heart of god is what launches you
76:17
it’s not uh it’s not my ministry goals
76:20
that matter it’s
76:21
it’s not you know it’s not me
76:24
fighting to see my gift expressed or
76:26
appreciated or whatever
76:27
all that stuff just dies it just dies
76:30
it’s so
76:31
unimportant in that moment it’s
76:32
embarrassing to discuss
76:34
because in that moment all you know is i
76:37
hear a heartbeat
76:39
and that heartbeat has become my
76:41
heartbeat
76:42
and something has shifted and changed at
76:45
least
76:46
in this moment how i see life
76:50
and i remember i remember that
76:53
that five month period of time as there
76:55
was yesterday because
76:58
it has become yesterday
77:02
ten days or so ago in the tent with the
77:05
students last sunday night
77:07
was the same kind of a same kind of a
77:10
moment
77:11
in the tent i don’t know maybe we’re
77:12
just built for tents
77:14
maybe maybe i don’t know maybe we should
77:16
just do the big old revival tent and get
77:18
it over with you know
77:20
there’s i don’t know there’s some i
77:21
don’t know what it is i i don’t
77:23
understand it at all but i know that
77:25
last sunday night i experienced it again
77:27
it was
77:29
he was he was there and that’s all you
77:30
know that’s what the glory is is the
77:32
manifest the presence of jesus
77:35
he was just there you say well he’s here
77:37
he’s with me now that’s true i i get
77:39
that
77:40
but there are so many dimensions of his
77:42
presence that
77:45
that no matter what you’re experiencing
77:47
there’s more
77:49
and the key to more is stewarding what
77:52
you’ve been given
77:54
it doesn’t matter if it’s money
77:55
anointing gifting doesn’t french
77:57
friends doesn’t matter what it is the
78:00
key to increase is always stewarding
78:01
what you have well
78:03
and there are there have been times in
78:07
my life where
78:08
as i stated earlier that that presence
78:11
that glory
78:12
would come so strong in that little
78:13
sanctuary up
78:15
up in the mountains that i would just
78:16
become nervous and find something else
78:18
to do and so
78:20
i don’t say this in shame embarrassment
78:22
i’m just saying this is reality there’s
78:24
no increase in that moment
78:25
i found my limit and so
78:29
somehow coming into that place of
78:31
presence again
78:32
and again and again
78:36
with whatever in me needs to yield
78:39
so that there can be more
78:44
i can’t describe it but that’s the
78:46
journey
78:47
you see he’s got us on one track there’s
78:54
he has one ambition base
78:55
you know i mean a lot of dreams for us i
78:58
don’t want to make it overly simple but
79:00
there’s this statement in haggai
79:04
chapter two i i will never forget when i
79:06
first
79:07
read this as a pastor in weaverville it
79:10
just
79:11
laughed at me it’s it’s haggai chapter 2
79:13
which is one of the small
79:15
little guys he’s kind of hard to find
79:18
him
79:21
if you get to matthew just turn left if
79:24
you get to daniel turn right he’s in
79:26
there
79:29
but he he says several things here that
79:31
i think would be
79:32
worth noting and then i want to talk to
79:34
a bit about where we’re headed
79:36
where where where we’re headed according
79:39
to him
79:46
verse 5 according to the word that i
79:48
covenanted with you
79:50
when you came out of egypt so my spirit
79:52
remains
79:53
among you do not fear the presence of
79:56
the lord
79:57
makes fear illegal
80:01
the presence of the lord is a
80:04
partnership with a foreign spirit
80:12
for thus says the lord verse 6 once more
80:15
it is a little while i will shake heaven
80:17
and earth the seed the dry land i will
80:19
shake all the nations
80:20
and they shall come to the desire of all
80:23
nations
80:24
my translation highlights this phrase in
80:26
this way desire referring to jesus as
80:28
the desire of the nations
80:31
i i will fill this temple with glory
80:35
says the lord of hosts the silver is
80:38
mine the gold is mine says the lord of
80:39
hosts
80:40
and here’s our phrase the glory of this
80:43
latter temple
80:44
shall be greater than the former
80:48
if god is in charge there’s always an
80:50
increase of glory
80:52
if we are we just build monuments to
80:56
what has happened in the past
80:59
we build them in our theology we build
81:01
them in our experience we build them in
81:02
our
81:03
routines our disciplines they all
81:07
shout to the past but there’s something
81:11
that is always expanding in the presence
81:13
it’s this
81:15
it’s this intangible thing called the
81:18
the glory of god that is always
81:20
deepening and always i don’t know
81:23
i don’t think we ever arrived to be
81:25
honest with you i
81:27
i’ve got a feeling that heaven is uh is
81:30
going to be
81:31
one continuous journey deeper into the
81:33
glory and there is no limit there’s not
81:35
an
81:35
end it’s not like okay
81:38
father says that’s all there is sorry
81:41
we’ll have to exist the next hundred
81:42
billion years just with what you got
81:45
there it’s just this unending journey
81:47
into the presence into the glory
81:49
ephesians 2 talks about the riches of
81:52
his grace which is one of the
81:53
expressions of glory
81:55
and in that phrase in ephesians 2 he
81:57
says that in the ages to come
82:00
we would discover the surpassing riches
82:02
of his grace ages to come
82:04
the billions of years ahead of time off
82:06
in eternity in those
82:08
ages there would be the continuous
82:10
unveiling of yet a deeper level of this
82:13
mystery called grace
82:16
and that mystery of grace always
82:18
introduces us
82:20
to glory
82:24
we find different stories in scripture
82:27
that
82:27
um
82:31
that they they rock me uh i’m assuming
82:34
they do
82:35
you as well ii chronicles chapter 5 is
82:38
one of them
82:40
it’s this amazing uh moment in the
82:43
dedication
82:45
of the temple solomon had
82:49
well let me back up david his dad
82:53
had discerned that there was a shift
82:57
actually there was a shift in worship
82:59
but more specifically
83:01
david perceived a reality that existed
83:04
in heaven that was not discovered in the
83:06
law
83:07
it was not revealed in the law
83:10
and david started to realize in his
83:13
relationship with the lord that the lord
83:16
wasn’t interested in the blood of bulls
83:18
and goats it doesn’t mean it didn’t
83:20
count
83:20
it was important for that season but it
83:22
had its it had its limits it had its
83:25
its measure of impact it wasn’t the
83:28
it wasn’t where god’s people were going
83:30
to land was on the
83:32
sacrifice of animals that’s not the
83:34
landing point that was
83:35
the illustration that got them ready for
83:38
the real lamb of god that once and for
83:40
all settled the issue
83:42
but david somehow discovered this in his
83:44
journey with the lord and
83:46
the prophets nathan and gad confirmed
83:49
what he was picking up it says in
83:50
chronicles later
83:52
he picked up this shift in in worship
83:55
and
83:55
and that the lord was actually looking
83:57
for the sacrifice of the heart the
83:59
contrite heart the yieldedness the fruit
84:01
of the lips that gives
84:03
thanks or praise to his name the lord is
84:04
actually looking for
84:06
for people to put themselves on the
84:08
altar as an offering to him
84:10
and it’s not because he’s an egotist
84:12
that needs our affirmation he’s quite
84:14
secure
84:16
he’s he’s he doesn’t need anything i
84:19
hear people say well he
84:20
he needs our life he doesn’t need our
84:21
love he doesn’t need anything he’s he’s
84:23
very self-sufficient
84:25
well the son holy spirit they make a
84:27
real good team they don’t need anything
84:28
but they desire
84:29
many things they desire many things they
84:32
desire my heart
84:33
they desire but it adds something to
84:36
them that nothing else and everything
84:37
that they have made
84:39
could add and he desires yours and it’s
84:42
that
84:43
wonderful that beautiful expression of
84:45
just turning
84:46
our our attention our affection towards
84:49
him
84:49
see the war that’s been going on over
84:51
this last year with the pandemic and all
84:54
the other stuff
84:55
is it’s a war for attention because the
84:57
enemy wants to dilute your affection
85:00
it’s always to divert attention
85:04
to defile affection
85:09
and there’s something about this this
85:13
reconnection with presence that
85:16
is is home it’s just home
85:20
it’s it’s home it’s like everything else
85:23
is
85:23
where i’m visiting this is actually home
85:26
i’m set out from home i get to do all
85:28
this stuff but this is home
85:29
this seamless connection with this
85:32
manifest presence of jesus the seamless
85:35
connection between
85:36
my surrendered heart and his heart for
85:38
me is just the most
85:40
beautiful thing
85:44
and so when solomon becomes king he
85:48
builds a temple we
85:49
many are familiar with the story so it’s
85:51
a truly truly wonderful
85:53
story but he built it with the materials
85:56
that david
85:58
set aside for him you know solomon’s
86:00
given the credit for this extravagant
86:02
building but it was david’s wealth that
86:03
built it
86:05
he set the stuff aside as this
86:07
father-son thing it was like
86:09
the only time i can find in history
86:12
where
86:12
if i can call this revival what david
86:14
was experiencing where a revival
86:16
increased in the next generation for
86:18
solomon
86:18
now solomon didn’t sustain it tragically
86:21
or everything would be different but he
86:23
didn’t but
86:24
for for a brief season there was an
86:26
acceleration
86:28
and where they learned the value the
86:31
beauty of ministering directly to the
86:34
lord not just
86:35
for the lord and and you know they had
86:38
to still
86:38
do the blood sacrifice because there had
86:40
to be that point of obedience
86:42
that they never lost sight of that sin
86:45
is only dealt with through blood
86:47
it had to be established in their
86:48
thinking and yet here’s the rub
86:50
the blood of bulls and goats can’t deal
86:52
with it it only postpones the penalty
86:54
for one more year
86:56
and so there’s this constant reminder
86:58
they need the
86:59
lamb of god they need that the law was
87:03
given as a tutor
87:04
a teacher an instructor that that would
87:06
lead them to christ and so all of this
87:08
is a part of that journey
87:10
but throughout this journey they got to
87:13
taste
87:14
moments of grace
87:17
grace was not just introduced in the new
87:19
in the new testament
87:21
grace is seen all through the old
87:23
testament there’s just moments
87:25
there’s just moments where there’s no
87:27
other explanation but god just has mercy
87:29
on
87:30
abraham and considers him righteous
87:33
because he believed that’s grace that’s
87:36
great said actually that story became
87:38
a new testament model it became the
87:40
prototype
87:41
for every new testament believer it
87:43
happened in the old testament happened
87:45
before the law it’s extraordinary what
87:49
takes place through
87:51
all these moments where there’s just
87:52
this like just little windows that open
87:54
to
87:55
let us see what grace looks like another
87:58
one i’m thinking of is when
88:01
when there was this in nehemiah’s day
88:03
where he uh
88:05
in in nehemiah eight they they found the
88:07
scriptures again they had had it for
88:09
a generation or more and so they’re
88:12
they’re standing in the open square and
88:15
every everybody’s there i mean everybody
88:17
kids babies infants everybody is there
88:20
and they’re all standing
88:21
at attention as the word is read and
88:24
this there’s this
88:26
there’s this overwhelming conviction
88:28
that comes on the people because
88:30
they see god’s standard is here as the
88:32
word is read that they’ve not heard
88:34
probably in their entire lifetime
88:36
god’s standard is here and their
88:38
lifestyles down here and they begin to
88:41
weep and to mourn
88:43
because they didn’t qualify and the
88:46
priest
88:46
ran among the people said stop mourning
88:49
this day is holy
88:51
i don’t know how you grew up but i grew
88:52
up thinking morning and holy were
88:54
synonymous
88:55
you know the more you wept the more you
88:57
were able to illustrate how holy the
88:59
moment was and
89:00
and it was it was it was actually the
89:02
tears of mourning in that
89:04
moment defiled the holiness of god
89:12
and so the priest ran among the people
89:14
and they said stop it
89:15
stop it send portions
89:19
to those who have nothing grab your food
89:22
grab the meat
89:22
grab the wine grab all these things that
89:24
you have in a family feast
89:26
get them together and start rejoicing
89:29
because you understood the words
89:32
that’s stunning god’s standards here my
89:35
my lifestyle is here and god says the
89:37
time to rejoice is when you understand
89:40
that changes everything you actually
89:42
rejoice your way into maturity
89:45
sounds like a child most of us need to
89:48
grow down
89:49
instead of grow up
89:52
so here we are in this moment fast
89:54
forward to solomon’s day he builds this
89:56
temple and it’s time to dedicate this
89:59
i’m going to assume the most extravagant
90:02
building that’s ever existed
90:07
man i would love to see it
90:11
and so here’s this moment where the
90:13
priests have come together
90:15
and i remind you uh exodus 19
90:20
verse 6 and isaiah 61 verse 7
90:26
announce to the people of god you shall
90:28
be
90:29
priests under the lord ii peter 2.
90:34
verse 9 says you are
90:37
priests under the lord old testament
90:40
pointed to the future said it’s help
90:41
it’s going to happen
90:43
peter and the book of revelation chapter
90:45
1 i think it’s verse 5
90:46
announce it’s not coming it is now
90:51
you have the right and responsibility to
90:54
minister
90:54
directly to him so everything we see of
90:57
that
90:58
nature of that of that that function
91:02
in in the old testament is is to seed
91:05
the clouds just to give us insight and
91:08
so here we have um we have all these
91:10
priests gathered together
91:12
and um we have uh um verse 12 let’s just
91:15
start there it says
91:16
the levites who were singing all those
91:18
of asaph and haman
91:20
and jeduthen with their sons with their
91:22
brethren stood at the east end of the
91:24
altar
91:25
clothed in white linen they had to wear
91:26
linen they couldn’t wear wool because if
91:28
they wore wool they would sweat
91:30
and there was nothing you could do on
91:31
your own works sweat
91:33
in the presence of god everything was to
91:35
be by grace
91:36
so here’s another glimpse you’re never
91:39
there by your works
91:40
and that was that was the insistence of
91:42
the lord they had
91:43
symbols stringed instruments harps and
91:46
with them 120 priests sounding trumpets
91:49
man that had to be something
91:51
i mean there were entire family lines
91:53
their whole job was just to play
91:54
trumpets
91:56
and you think about it almost seemed
91:57
silly a whole another family line
91:59
they were singers a whole nother group
92:01
they were just symbol players the whole
92:02
point was they had to become excellent
92:04
what they were doing
92:05
and they were to carry on that mantle
92:06
throughout their family line
92:12
120 priests sounding trumpets verse 13.
92:15
it came to pass
92:16
when the trumpeters the singers were as
92:19
one
92:20
to make one sound
92:24
yeah but i want to stand out no you
92:26
don’t
92:27
no no you don’t you’re privileged to be
92:30
a part of the whole
92:32
it’s not about you it’s not about me
92:37
whenever as one to make one sound to be
92:40
heard in praising and thanking the lord
92:42
when they
92:42
lifted up their voice with the trumpets
92:44
and symbols and
92:46
instruments of music and praised the
92:47
lord saying for he is good
92:49
for his mercy endures forever that the
92:52
house
92:53
the house of the lord was filled with a
92:55
cloud
92:58
so that the priest could not continue
93:00
ministering because the cloud for the
93:02
glory of the lord had filled the house
93:05
what did we read in haggai the glory of
93:07
the latter house will be filled
93:09
will be greater than the former it’s
93:12
always his intent to take us from glory
93:14
to glory
93:15
anything less is man’s influence
93:20
it’s always his intent to take us from
93:22
glory to glory
93:24
it does doesn’t come because it’s my
93:27
goal
93:28
it comes because i surrender to his
93:34
so here in this moment we find i don’t
93:36
know how many are there there’s at least
93:37
120 there there
93:39
that are playing trumpets then you’ve
93:40
got probably the same amount or more
93:42
that are singers you’ve got the symbols
93:44
you’ve got string just you got all this
93:46
stuff so you get this
93:47
massive massive crowd and they’re all
93:49
playing
93:51
not for the nation of israel they are
93:52
playing for the audience of one we’re
93:55
playing
93:56
to him directly to him every strum
94:00
every clanging symbol every
94:04
vo every syllable that is lifted up in
94:06
song
94:07
everything is for the one and
94:10
when that happened and it became a
94:12
united sound
94:14
when they sang as one with horns
94:17
that’s a miracle right there when all of
94:19
that comes together
94:20
as one sound
94:26
the cloud the cloud came
94:29
and so filled the temple nobody had to
94:31
stand up and say i think it’d be
94:32
appropriate if we went to our knees
94:34
right now just to honor the lord
94:36
i i believe those moments are fine i’ve
94:38
done it and probably will do it again
94:39
who knows day’s not over but it wasn’t
94:43
that kind of a moment it was an
94:44
involuntary
94:46
i’ve got to hide my face from the one
94:48
who just entered the room
94:53
here’s the deal this all happened under
94:56
an inferior covenant and inferior
94:59
covenants
95:00
do not release superior blessings
95:05
if what happens in this context
95:08
happened in the old testament when they
95:11
were just
95:12
learning what it was to sing to the lord
95:14
and to honor him and to
95:15
give offerings of thanksgiving and
95:17
praise if if it would happen in that
95:19
environment
95:20
then how much more has he not designed
95:23
it to happen
95:25
here with us i remember a prophetic song
95:27
we had in weberville
95:31
prophetic songs were the song of the
95:33
lord with the lord himself
95:35
is is singing i mean i didn’t hear his
95:37
voice but we
95:38
we heard through another voice i
95:40
remember the word said did i not
95:42
fill the tabernacle of moses with my
95:45
glory
95:47
did i not fill the temple of solomon
95:50
with my glory
95:52
how much more should i fill the place
95:54
that i build with my own hands
95:57
my beloved i’m building you
96:04
no matter what we throw into the mix our
96:06
ambitions for our families our
96:09
countries our cities or whatever just
96:12
put it all in the pile
96:16
it is all
96:21
profoundly impacted
96:24
by the glory
96:28
where is this thing headed i
96:32
i can’t shake the fact that his goal
96:35
is for the whole earth to be filled with
96:36
his glory
96:38
now he’s god he can make that happen now
96:40
but it would be a military invasion it
96:42
wouldn’t be through partnership
96:45
see his longing is always to accomplish
96:48
the significant
96:49
things through co-laboring through the
96:51
yieldedness of his people
96:52
those who’ve been made in his image
96:54
created in his image would respond with
96:56
likeness with the same heart as he has
96:59
to model to illustrate to release to
97:02
activate his will in the earth and
97:05
that’s the heart of god that’s the heart
97:07
of god that’s the privilege that we have
97:08
in this hour
97:09
we we know his heart i may be confused
97:12
by a thousand things but the one thing
97:14
that’s not confusing not if i read this
97:16
the one thing is not confusing is he has
97:18
got me on a
97:20
track it’s not a road where i can take
97:24
directions i want it’s a railroad track
97:27
you don’t turn
97:29
the direction has been set you can stop
97:32
you can go backwards but you can’t
97:34
change the assigned direction the
97:35
direction
97:36
is from glory to glory
97:39
from glory to glory
97:44
so i remember
97:47
i’ve been uh sentimentally stirred up in
97:50
the last
97:51
week or so just in my own private little
97:54
world
97:55
remembering i’ll never forget the sunday
97:57
sitting
97:58
right down there where brian my son
98:01
happened to be leading a worship that
98:03
sunday
98:04
he may have played two chords i’ve
98:06
always said it was one but it might have
98:07
he might have gone to a second chord but
98:09
something happened on that second
98:11
chord where he
98:14
filled the room
98:18
and we didn’t get to our first song for
98:19
40 minutes
98:24
and no one was keeping track it was
98:26
after a fact you look back
98:28
why because some something happens when
98:30
he comes in
98:32
everything that was important to you you
98:34
can’t even remember
98:36
it’s not like ah i’ll bring it up later
98:38
no you can’t remember it in
98:40
in the manifest presence of the king of
98:42
glory suddenly there’s only
98:45
one thing on your mind it’s what i was
98:47
born for
98:48
i i was born for this seamless
98:50
interaction
98:52
between the king of glory who has made
98:54
me qualified because i could never
98:56
qualify myself
98:58
he’s qualified me to be here in this
99:00
moment
99:04
and it’s in those moments we hear him
99:07
say
99:08
who shall i send and without even
99:11
thinking the hand goes up
99:17
people who tell me i love to worship the
99:19
lord i don’t like to
99:22
i don’t like to leave that place
99:25
i’m not sure they saw him yet
99:28
i’m not sure they actually saw him
99:31
because i’m not sure he could see his
99:32
heart
99:33
and not want to go i i don’t know if
99:35
it’s possible
99:36
to sit in that moment where where you
99:38
see where
99:39
where this overwhelming sense of who he
99:41
is what he’s like and
99:43
then he says who shall i ascend and you
99:45
find your hand going up said i’ll
99:47
i’ll do it you name it i’ll do it i’m
99:49
there
99:50
i don’t know what i’m doing but i trust
99:53
you go
99:54
with me i’ll go
99:57
i i’m not sure that anybody who wants to
100:01
just sit there
100:02
and and do nothing
100:06
has actually seen what they claim to
100:08
have seen
100:11
there’s there’s something about
100:14
who shall i send i’ll go there’s
100:16
something about that moment of going
100:18
where that glory never leaves you it’s
100:20
not like i’m departing the glory it’s
100:22
like i’m i’m going to now enter into a
100:24
greater realm of glory
100:25
because i will now be an instrument in
100:27
his hand
100:28
and perhaps that is how the whole earth
100:33
becomes filled with this glory as people
100:36
in the presence
100:38
carry the presence to bring change
100:44
i believe you know i i teach a lot
100:46
unfulfilled dreams and
100:48
you know the desires that we have i
100:50
believe they’re meaningful to god
100:51
i i do all that i haven’t changed my
100:54
tune at all
100:56
but i
101:00
i have been strangely apprehended again
101:04
for something that’s way bigger than us
101:08
i love us but this one’s bigger than us
101:13
this one’s bigger than us
101:17
i remember that one sunday morning where
101:21
brian hit i think was the second
101:22
chord and and he just i don’t know how
101:25
to describe it you know
101:26
it’s afterwards in the moment you don’t
101:28
know what to do
101:29
you know afterwards you look back and go
101:31
man he just walked into the room and
101:33
that was that kind of a moment i’ll
101:35
never forget that we’ve only had that
101:36
happen
101:37
on that level one time in 25 years
101:42
but i remember a sunday night where the
101:44
worship team was playing
101:46
and they’re another one of those moments
101:48
where the glory just came in
101:49
and everybody up here just stopped
101:53
and everybody out here just stopped
101:56
and it was almost like we were suspended
101:58
in time
102:01
you know you know how people get nervous
102:02
when nothing’s happening you know like
102:04
somebody especially in
102:05
pentecostal circles somebody need to
102:07
pray in tongues or prophesy or
102:10
laugh or get out and dance or do
102:11
something else like we get nervous with
102:13
blank
102:14
spaces there was no nervousness with
102:16
that blank space because he filled the
102:17
blank space
102:20
he he just came into the blank space and
102:22
all of a sudden
102:24
you didn’t have to tell people turn your
102:25
affection to him it’s just there was
102:27
just silence i don’t remember ever
102:29
hearing
102:29
silence for that long in a in a crowd
102:33
that likes to make noise
102:35
it was like the ultimate offering was
102:37
just to shut up
102:39
but yet nobody said or suggested it was
102:42
just
102:43
it’s what you do when he enters the room
102:49
you find everything that you could think
102:51
of to say is completely meaningless
102:56
and i’m hungry for that again
103:00
i’ve had taste in the last
103:04
10 days or so at levels
103:08
measures that have not
103:10
had for a while
103:14
and it tells me
103:18
that we’re being set up
103:22
and it’s going to be good
103:25
but it won’t be about you and it won’t
103:28
be about me
103:33
he has set something in motion
103:36
and he wants us to see that he was
103:39
absolutely
103:41
serious when he said it the glory of the
103:45
latter house would be greater than the
103:47
former the context was
103:48
there were people that saw the temple
103:51
before it was destroyed and then rebuilt
103:53
and they remember
103:54
both and the first one solomon was just
103:57
incredibly glorious and the second one
103:59
wasn’t near as beautiful
104:01
and so you had you had two groups of
104:03
people there some were laughing for joy
104:05
because look the temple’s built and
104:07
others were weeping man it’s nothing
104:08
like it used to be
104:09
and so that prophecy was very very
104:11
specific
104:13
in in other words this thing that you
104:14
see over here that’s not it
104:17
i’m going to do something in the earth
104:18
that is going to be way more glorious
104:21
than even solomon’s temple
104:24
which silenced and stunned the leaders
104:28
of nations god will do it again in this
104:31
house
104:32
that’s you and that’s me
104:39
i feel like there’s an invitation i
104:43
i wasn’t sure how to how to label this
104:46
talk this conversation
104:48
with you today but to me i i can’t talk
104:51
about it
104:52
without feeling invited without feeling
105:00
compelled
105:04
now dissatisfaction
105:08
is a holy holy gift
105:12
see sometimes our
105:16
satisfaction in the absence of revival
105:21
is what prohibits revival
105:24
is that i’m actually okay without it
105:32
sometimes the absence of the manifest
105:35
presence of the king of glory
105:38
sometimes my satisfaction in those
105:40
moments may be the very thing
105:46
that propels
105:50
that glory so here’s
105:53
here’s an invitation i’d like for
105:56
everybody watching
105:58
to join me in this very very simple
106:00
prayer
106:04
god i can’t make myself suitable
106:08
but i can surrender
106:11
and there are people right now watching
106:12
you don’t even have a personal
106:14
relationship with
106:14
with the lord jesus christ and this is
106:17
the most
106:18
unusual message ever to invite you into
106:21
the family but i’m going to do it anyway
106:23
in this moment you have this sense some
106:25
of you in your homes
106:27
there’s going to be this sense of
106:28
presence you’ve never seen before you’ve
106:30
never felt before you’ve never realized
106:31
before
106:32
but it’s happening now i had that sense
106:34
early this morning that there would be
106:36
this
106:36
encounters with the lord himself in your
106:39
home i love the corporate gathering but
106:41
there’s see it was in my one-on-one
106:43
stuff that helped me to realize the
106:44
corporate stuff
106:49
so wherever you’re at some of you have
106:52
never surrendered to jesus i want you
106:53
just to simply pray this prayer and
106:55
in in the online chat room tell somebody
106:57
what you’ve done
106:58
but it’s just praying this prayer of god
107:00
i give you my entire life
107:03
that you would be glorified do in me
107:07
whatever pleases you that your name
107:11
would be exalted
107:14
do in my family in my
107:18
home that which
107:21
delights your heart
107:25
see the scripture says the lord speaks
107:27
at one point he says for i’m not ashamed
107:29
to be called their god i would like
107:30
everybody watching this
107:32
to have the lord shout over your actual
107:34
home the physical home that you live in
107:37
i would love to see the lord of glory
107:39
stand over your household and
107:40
shout to everything that exists i am not
107:43
ashamed
107:44
to be called their god there’s something
107:47
about to be released in the earth
107:50
and it’s through surrendered people so
107:52
father we pray right now i ask that you
107:54
would use this
107:55
overwhelming sense of presence and that
107:57
you disciple us this way
107:59
you teach us this way that we would
108:01
never be satisfied with anything
108:04
less than you again
108:07
like moses we want to say if you’re not
108:09
taking us we don’t want to go up from
108:11
here we don’t want to go just blessed we
108:13
don’t want to go just with favor and
108:14
open doors
108:15
if you’re not going if your presence
108:17
isn’t that which makes us
108:19
different than everyone else then we
108:21
don’t want to go anywhere
108:22
so i’m praying that i’m praying that for
108:24
us us
108:26
this tribe this family the bethel family
108:28
all over the world
108:30
mark us with the glory god i invite you
108:34
interrupt our dream time
108:37
teach us what you like teach us open up
108:41
new
108:42
pathways of discernment and perception
108:45
in our
108:46
physical body our hearts our minds that
108:48
we just expand our ability to recognize
108:50
you the glorious one
108:53
and that somehow that would be the
108:55
contagious factor not a pandemic not a
108:57
virus
108:59
but a contagious factor called the glory
109:02
of god
109:04
the glory of god has become known in the
109:06
earth that’s what we want
109:10
so i invite you to do that with us as a
109:13
family and i
109:14
give you thanks amen
109:18
if uh if you invited jesus
109:21
into your life please tell someone on
109:24
the
109:24
in the chat room if you’re a believer
109:26
that has just really
109:29
really really find yourself fighting
109:32
with what god is saying and doing
109:34
you know pray with somebody on the in
109:35
the chat room as well
109:37
we just want everyone to have this
109:40
ongoing encounter with king jesus
109:42
amen god bless you thanks for joining us
109:44
love you much

24:40
amen i love one of the translations of
24:42
galatians 2 20.
24:44
it’s called the distilled translations
24:45
that said um
24:48
i’ve died and now i’m joined my second
24:50
existence which is simply Jesus using my
24:53
body
24:55
amen in a sense you could say i’m Jesus
24:57
with skin on
25:00
he’s living on the inside of me so the
25:02
spirit dwells in us but how does he
25:04
dwell in us
25:05
he yearns jealously and the word
25:08
yearn means to be overdue in fondness
25:11
and attention
25:13
the holy spirit is overdue in fondness
25:16
and attention in other words if there’s
25:17
anybody that wants to hug you
25:20
that wants to wrap his arms around you
25:22
that wants to tickle you and mess with
25:23
you
25:24
it’s the holy ghost

21:04
they want to maintain a monopoly over
21:07
the dissemination of information and
21:09
they’re not
21:09
and the the most shocking part of it is
21:12
the people who are leading this crusade
21:14
the censorship crusade our journalists
21:17
are the people who work at
21:19
the large corporate media outlets
21:21
they’re the biggest and most vocal
21:23
cheerleaders
21:24
for corporate censorship of anybody
21:26
because they don’t want any other voices
21:28
competing with their own
21:29
you make a point in one of your columns
21:31
about the
21:32
and the and the raison d’etre for that
21:34
we’re talking about publications like
21:35
the new york times
21:36
is they claim that they’re nonpartisan
21:39
uh and you kind of devastate this
21:41
argument
21:41
uh but lay that out for us the idea that
21:45
uh these partisan outlets whether the
21:47
left or the right are shut down and
21:49
censored
21:50
and uh there is a uh direction
21:53
the people who seek news are directed to
21:56
established media outlets like the new
21:58
york times
21:59
as if they are objective but but
22:02
please explain that fallacy so i’ve you
22:05
know obviously there has been
22:07
a lurking question for 15
22:10
years now or so with the advent of the
22:13
internet which is
22:14
how is it that media outlets and
22:16
newspapers can survive
22:18
when there’s so much free content online
22:21
as a result of the internet where can
22:23
they get their
22:25
revenue from it used to be that they
22:26
could get it from advertisers but
22:28
advertisers now primarily go to google
22:31
and facebook and they collect 90 to 95
22:34
of what used to be media advertising
22:36
money people
22:38
are unwilling increasingly to pay for
22:40
content
22:41
online and so these media outlets were
22:43
in serious trouble and so the model that
22:45
they adopted
22:47
in order to become financially viable
22:50
was to become
22:51
a cause to say we’re not just objective
22:55
news disseminators because you can get
22:56
that anywhere we’re gonna be
22:59
devoted to a particular political cause
23:01
and because you agree with that cause so
23:03
passionately
23:04
you’re gonna give us your money the way
23:05
that you give your money to the aclu or
23:07
to some other group that you support
23:09
so the new york times cnn msnbc
23:13
all these other outlets positioned
23:14
themselves as
23:16
anti-trump outlets and everything that
23:19
they did
23:20
became designed to appease
23:23
and aggrandize essentially the
23:26
democratic party because that is who
23:27
became their audience the democrats are
23:29
now the audience of the white affluent
23:31
managerial costs that’s where you get
23:33
subscription money from because of this
23:36
financial incentive to become
23:38
essentially organs of or spokespeople
23:40
for the democratic party obviously not
23:43
the socialist movement within the
23:45
democratic party but the establishment
23:47
neoliberal
23:48
and yet the argument is that they
23:49
somehow aren’t partisan
23:51
that’s the argument that they make to
23:53
justify
23:54
diverting uh readers towards their
23:57
content
23:58
yeah you know it’s kind of ironic
24:00
because when i began writing about
24:01
politics in 2005 one of my motives
24:05
was i did think that this kind of
24:07
pseudo-neutrality or
24:08
pseudo objectivity that the media had
24:12
long
24:13
adopted for themselves was destroying
24:15
journalism and the example that
24:17
bothered me the most at the time was
24:19
that the bush administration began
24:21
implementing a system of worldwide
24:23
torture and
24:24
media outlets refused to call it torture
24:26
on the ground so well the bush
24:28
administration denies that it’s torture
24:30
human rights groups and everyone else
24:32
around the world says it is
24:34
who are we to decide we’re just
24:35
journalists we tell you what one side
24:37
says we tell you what the other side
24:38
says and then we wash our hands
24:40
of the question and that was clearly a
24:43
corrupting form of journalism because it
24:45
precludes
24:46
the truth and i always advocated for a
24:47
more adversarial and honest
24:50
form of journalism that’s willing to
24:51
call lies from government officials
24:53
lives in a sense they’ve adopted that
24:57
but only in a very partisan sense
25:00
they’re only willing to do that when it
25:02
comes to donald trump because that’s all
25:03
their readership wants to hear
25:05
you’re going to see a radical shift in
25:07
how the u.s government is covered
25:10
now that biden and the democrats are
25:11
about to take over i’ll bet you
25:13
you can count on one hand the number of
25:15
times cnn will have a crying on screen
25:17
calling a press secretary statement or
25:20
the president’s or the vice president’s
25:21
statement a lie
25:22
or false because they’re not
25:25
doing journalism they’re doing activism
25:28
on the part of the democratic party that
25:29
is the model they’ve assumed
25:31
great that was pulitzer prize-winning
25:33
journalist glenn greenwald
25:35
on what to expect from the incoming
25:36
biden administration

For this reason, the team settled on using calcium carbonate (CaCO3) a #calcite mineral also known as chalk, as it is not particularly reactive. @CalciteAsh

  1. “Drones” by Muse

The English band’s seventh studio album, “Drones,” from 2015 returned Muse to their original alternative rock/progressive sound. The album explores the dehumanization of modern warfare through the journey of a protagonist who is introduced in the album’s opener, “Dead Inside.” The album evokes George Orwell’s novel “1984” about a controlling, repressive government and the lyrics reveal the protagonist’s loss of hope that makes them vulnerable to manipulation.

Following an interlude of a screaming drill sergeant, the third track, “Pyscho,” is from the perspective of the sergeant as they train the emotion out of the protagonist and turn them into a human drone. The protagonist recognizes their change and loss of self in “Mercy” and begs for rescue. “The Handler” is a turning point in the story because the protagonist realizes their power and decides to escape their oppressor. The protagonist breaks free in “Defector” and rebels against the system in “Revolt.”

The album interestingly includes a song detailing the background of the antagonist, the ruling dictator, in the song “The Globalist.” The song is over 10 minutes long and is broken down into three parts: their origin, their turn to nuclear warfare and the aftermath. Finally, the album closes with “Drones,” a cinematic classical song that uses the music of “Benedictus” by Giovanni Palestrina.

Band frontrunner Matthew “Matt” Bellamy described the album in an interview with Annie Mac of Radio 1 as “a modern metaphor for what it is to lose empathy.” The album is complete with a particularly awesome interlude that features an excerpt from a speech by President John F. Kennedy following the failed Bay of Pigs invasion, which transitions into the next song, “Defector.” The album’s multiple perspectives and cohesive narrative tells a complete story that successfully tackles bigger themes.
